O que faz WEST INDIES PETROLEUM LIMITED?
West Indies Petroleum was incorporated in 2012 and commenced operations in 2013 as a special purpose vehicle to enter the ship bunkering business in the Caribbean and Latin American region. It was founded out of the need to meet the ever growing demand of the region’s marine refuelling as well as the necessity to establish Jamaica as a global logistics hub. In June 2016, we acquired West Indies Petroleum, South Terminal, a 650,000 barrel fuel storage facility located at Port Esquivel on the south coast of Jamaica. In addition, we host storage of 63,000 barrel tanks on the north coast and a further 72,000 barrels over two tug and barges in Kingston Harbour. With storage in excess of 700,000 barrels, West Indies Petroleum boasts the largest fuel bunker capabilities in Jamaica and is positioned centrally between the three major shipping lanes from the Caribbean region entering to and from South America, the Gulf Coast, stretching along the US eastern coast as far as Europe and Asia. We deliver bunker services within Jamaican waters 24 hours a day to all types of vessels by barge at inner anchorage in Kingston harbour and by truck to all other ports of Jamaica. We are currently in the process of purchasing supplementary vessels which will serve the island of Jamaica. Quality, safety and economic sense are the basics of our organisation. With this as our foundation, West Indies Petroleum has ensured full compliance with all local and international marine specifications and requirements. All the marine products we supply meet the applicable ISO 8217/2010 standards and are in compliance with MARPOL 73/78, Annex VI. All our vessels and ventures are adequately insured and in class.
