On November 29, 1993, we began work with the registration to the CNR of OPA (Operaciones y Proyectos Aduaneros, S. A. de C.V.) that years ago already operated as a Professional Customs Office under the direction of its founder Dr. Salvador Guillermo Mónico Díaz, leaving thus the seed that would give way in the next few years to the birth of several sister companies. In October 1997, MT Carga Expreso de El Salvador, S.A. was founded. de C.V., beginning its operations as a Cargo Agency in January 1998, its founding partners being Mrs. Gianina Rojas (representing Mar y Tierra Costa Rica) and Lic. Salvador G. Mónico Fórtiz (representing OPA), for this year we only had 31 collaborators, 29 from OPA and 2 from MT. In 2001, Lic. Salvador Guillermo Mónico Fórtiz, Entrepreneur and Customs Agent, assumes the presidency of the companies, continuing the legacy with effort and with a vision of diversifying services, regionalizing companies and being recognized not only as a leading company in services logistics if not also a leading company in generating employment at the national and regional level. In 2002, Servicios Integrados de Centroamérica, S.A. was founded. de C.V., with the purpose of integrating messaging, finance, HR, asset security and Administration services for OPA and MT. In 2003, Centro de Distribución Regional, S.A. was born. de C.V., as part of the growth vision and providing a more complete service in simple and fiscal storage, transportation and inventory management. In 2008 we internationalized and the operation of GLC Honduras was born, 2009 GLC Guatemala, 2010 GLC Panama, Colon free zone, 2013 GLC USA and GLC Nicaragua, 2016 GLC Costa Rica, 2018 GLC Colombia and GLC Panama Pacific. On June 16, 2018, our corporate name changed to Grupo Logístico de Carga de El Salvador S.A. of C.V. At the regional level we are currently 12 companies, with a presence in 8 countries and jointly generating 380 formal, direct and stable jobs for El Salvador with our sister companies; that together with the jobs generated in the rest of the region we form a labor force of 600 collaborators. Salvadoran and Latin American hands moving cargo around the planet. Our next goal is to promote El Salvador to help turn it into a platform for logistics services in the Central American region. Salvadorans by birth, Latin Americans at heart.
